Last seen on a boat at this year’s Miami Boat Show, GROHE bathroom faucets have once again found themselves on a boat. This time it’s the Seabourn Quest luxury cruise ship that just set sail this month down it’s first “big blue watery road.” It’s the third consecutive year Seabourn has launched a new cruise ship, the others being the Odyssey in ’09 and the Sojourn last year.
USA Today released an 83-image slideshow of this beautiful ship, including pictures of bathroom faucets from each suite. This boat is surrounded with luxury, but somehow the GROHE showerheads and other bathroom fixtures seem to stand out in the bathroom, like the faucets seen in the Wintergarden Suite above.
USA Today: Veranda Suite bathrooms are far larger than the bathrooms in most cruise ship cabins and feature high-end appointments including granite walls and floors; double sinks built into a well-lit, stone-topped vanity; a shower with high-end Grohe fixtures; and a separate, full-sized tub.

Lighting magazine, a Special Interest publication of Better Homes and Gardens, featured their favorite wall sconces that added style to any room of the house. From the Barton wall-mount sconce by Dolan Designs to the Wilton sconce by Hudson Valley Lighting to the Slim Line wall light by House of Troy, you’re sure to find just what you need to make a statement. And making a statement doesn’t have to break your wallet, says Patrick Dolan, president of Dolan Designs… “As the price of green technologies comes down and the payback period is reduced, more people will make the investment. Everyone wants to do the right thing, but it has to make sense financially.”
p. 100: Barton exterior wall-mount sconce from Dolan Designs. Budget-minded and beautiful, a Craftsman-influenced sconce works as a welcoming outdoor light.
p. 99: Shine a light on artwork with this direct-mount picture light, featuring an elegant curved arm in six finishes.

Moen Press Release: North Olmsted, Ohio… Clean lines and cool hues are just two elements that can add modern styling to your home. Now, it’s easy to incorporate them into your bath with the new Danika single-handle faucet from Moen. Danika features soft, contemporary lines, giving any home a sophisticated modern makeover on a budget.
“We continue to see that modern styling is growing in popularity,” said Kevin Campbell, director of retail marketing, Moen. “With the introduction of Danika, we’re expanding our modern portfolio, as well as providing a contemporary option at an affordable price point.”
Available in a sleek, single-handle design, the Danika bathroom faucet is a beautiful, contemporary addition to the sink. Danika features flexible installation, as it can be installed with a single- or three-hole mount. In addition, Danika features Moen’s 1255 Duralast cartridge, a state-of-the-art ceramic-disc cartridge, which provides a consistently smooth handle feel for the life of the faucet.
Danika’s allure is not limited to the faucet’s design. The lavatory faucet has been certified to meet WaterSense criteria, meaning the fixture meets the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) guidelines as an environmentally responsible and efficient product. The new lavatory faucet is flow-optimized and allows water to flow up to 1.5 gallons per minute (gpm), versus traditional aerators that flow at 2.2 gpm. This provides consumers the sensational water experience they are accustomed to, while reducing water usage by up to 32 percent.

Jamie Rice, Founder of The Dude Society, recently returned from Hawaii and wrote about his experience… in the bathroom. Just like luxury hotel guests before him, Jamie was very impressed with the TOTO Washlet he used at The Royal Hawaiian in Waikiki. He loves the innovative features and the only thing he sees wrong with it: house guests wanting to “give their butt a bath.” Can we really blame them?
The Dude Society: “Essentially, the Washlet is a toilet seat, but with quite a few additional features. It connects both to an electrical outlet and to the water hose that feeds the toilet. Assuming there is already an electrical outlet near the toilet, any dude should be able to install this baby himself.”
